What did you like: The B&B is located just off the autostrade in Castronno and has a private parking area out the front (with electric gates to get access to it). The owners are very kind and helpful and speak reasonably good english, and the room itself was very nice and clean. There is wireless internet access available in the rooms, and there are a few restaurants located within a short drive of the B&B. A traditional "english pub" (called Full Stop) was recommended by the owners and was a healthy meal in a good atmosphere even though no-one working there spoke english it felt like home!

What did you like: I had a great experience at this Hostel. My friend and I were flying out of Malpensa airport early the next morning. We arrived from Florence to the hostel late (almost midnight), and the owner, Alfredo, was kind enough to pick us up from the train station. We stayed over for 4 hours until we left for our flight, and Alfredo was again kind enough to take us to Malpensa. The room was awesome, but I didn't get a chance to see the other facilities. I would imagine that it would be a tougher place to meet and socialize with others considering it is a Bed&Breakfast - a more private environment. But it was beautiful, and Alfredo was a great host.

What did you like: Villa Monterosa was one of the best places we stayed during our 3 weeks in Italy. A wonderful place to stay for our last 2 nights. Peaceful, beautiful grounds, very clean, and super quiet. It is much more a B and B than a typical hostel, with 3 rooms for rent below a beautiful private home. Alfredo is amazing, so genuinely kind and helpful. He promptly returned all my e-mails and answered many questions before we got there. Great breakfast too! A wonderful neighborhood to walk around, and fun restaurants not too far. We thouroughly enjoyed our time here, and highly reccomend Villa Monterosa as a place to stay. We chose to stay our last 2 nights so we would be close to the Malpensa airport for our departing flight. Alfredo took us to the airport, the drive was beautiful, and it made leaving competely sress-free! The atmosphere of Villa Monterosa is just what we hoped for; and a great value for what is charged. I can't say enough good about staying here. It was a perfect choice, and I wish all the best to Alfredo and his wonderful family.

What did you like: It's more a bed and breakfast than a hostel. Alfredo picked us up at the train station, later drove us to a restaurant for dinner - then the chef at the restaurant drove us home - in 2 trips, since his car was small! Clean, roomy, comfortable, quiet, located in a leafy suburb. A great alternative to staying anywhere near Malpensa airport. They treated us like family - I recommend it.

What did you like: Sarah, the daughter of the owner, was extremely helpful. She spoke fluent English and was very accomodating. She helped us out with finding places to eat and drink in the very small town, and arranged everything for our cab ride to the airport. Very relaxing experience!

What did you like: The host could not have been more welcoming. We arrived tired after a long journey and were quickly made to feel at home. The children really appreciated the midnight swim in the pool. Breakfast was the perfect start to the day and our holiday. Huge thanks and praise all round.

What did you like: We loved the location, the facilities, the cleanliness, the pool as it SOOOO HOT, and the service provided by Alfredo was second to none. Free shuttle from the station, organised pizzas and wine for our dinner beside the pool, and the shuttle to the airport for twenty euros. The most peaceful way to spend our last night in Italy and Milano, without any stress or noise of a large city. Just wonderful.

Why not? The hostel was described on Hostelbookers as being only 15 minutes away from the airport. However, it's actually a 45 minute drive by car, and virtually impossible to get to by bus/train, unless you know the area. As such, you're forced to pay the hostel owner for his 'shuttle'.

Why not? Does not state additional fee for use of kitchen(although advertises "self catering". Otherwise, this family home is an ideal B&B !
